I had registered the Domain Names through a Reseller / Agent for a Registrar called Wild West Domains who are part of the Go Daddy Group.
At first glance that is a lot of people getting a share out of my $7.00, well not really ICANN get about 0.18 Cents (US$) for administration, that leaves a lot to share especially when like Go Daddy you claim to have some 36 million domain names registered.
The real money is when a domain is not renewed on time, as the redemption fee is some $80.00 > $150.00 plus the $7.00 renewal fee, of course your domain is used to advertise the Go Daddy Registry and other services while your web site is down.
Even better (for them) if you do not pay the redemption fee and you have a good quality domain because then it goes to the "In House" Auction Service where your domain appears to be sold on the open market.
I seriously doubt the process was open in my case because at no time was I told about the auction, also the domain has never moved outside the control of the Go Daddy Group. I believe the insider trading is very well organised.
I did know from the new homepage for my site that I could try to buy my own domain using any number of the "In House" services advertised, however the Go Daddy Group had good reason not to assist me in securing my domain.
In my case the owner was not assisted in recovering, redeeming or renewing the domains based on the Lie that the Registrar could not enter the Resellers Account to redeem the domain.
How do I know this was a Lie? In recovering a different domain name from the same Resellers Account they did go in and get the information under the watch of the same ICANN Representative !
Knowledge of the process by which I could have transferred the domain from the Resellers account was held back until the last moment and involved levels of technology not available to me, making it impossible for me to redeem my Domain Name.
Despite the fact that the process is still in dispute the domain name was transferred to the "New Owner".
